Administrative password

When performing system-related tasks or making changes to Inveneo Desktop Linux, the user will be prompted to type in the the Administrative password.

The default Administrative password is 1nvene0.

Saving Configuration

The Save Configuration command.

Changes to system, user and program settings (such as screensaver selection, new desktop icons, and Firefox web browser bookmarks) are not remembered by Inveneo Desktop Linux after the system is turned off unless the user saves the system configuration before shutting down.

It is important to save the system configuration after making any changes to Inveneo Desktop Linux.

To save changes to the Inveneo Desktop Linux system by performing "Save Configuration":

  1. Clicking Start > Administration > Save Configuration.
  2. Type in the administrative password 1nvene0 and click OK.
  3. When the “Configuration saved” message appears, click OK.


Normal Reboot

Normal Reboot restarts the computer without saving the configuration setting. This option is primarily used when IDL is in Install Mode and need to go back to Normal Mode.

Factory Reset

The Factory Reset option.
The Factory Reset option.

Factory Reset erases all system perference settings on Inveneo Desktop Linux and restores IDL to it factory defaults. Factory Reset does NOT remove programs installed in Install Mode.

To perform a Factory Reset on the ICS:

  1. Click Start > Administration > Reboot System.
  2. Type in the administrator password: 1nvene0 and click OK.
  3. Select the Factory Reset option and then click Reboot.
  4. The ICS will restart and boot to the Desktop with factory default settings.


Note
A factory reset will remove the "Station Files" folder from the desktop. However, it will not delete the files in the "Station Files" folder. If you re-enable the "Station Files" folder, all the saved to the documents will still be in the folder. To re-enable the "Station Files" folder, see Chapter 7 Saving Files, Turning on Local File Storage. To remove documents from this folder, you must manually delete each document.
