Tips for Preparing Xubuntu for cloning

  1. Edit /etc/iftab. The MAC address should be removed
  2. Edit /etc/fstab. Delete the partition serial names
  3. Ensure all 3 partitions are the correct size and in the correct order
    • hda1 - for OS - about 10GB
    • hda2 - for data storage - about 28GB
    • hda3 - swap - about 1GB
  4. Make sure all drivers are installed and current
